Untethered is developed by a solo developer, and I do my best to predict how long things will take, anything can happen!

 

Be sure to join the Discord to provide suggestions, feedback, and ask questions. 

 

But with that said, here's the rough roadmap!

DECEMBER 2024

The final update to Demo v2, available now on Steam!

CLOSED Pre-alpha 10

APRIL 2025

At the end of this period, Untethered will finally be Early Access feature complete! I will have added:

  • Full save/load system support.
  • Constructing multiple stations.
  • Fuel systems.
  • Fluid networking, gas storage, electrolysis, fuel cells, etc.
  • Control panels for external equipment.
  • Thermal control systems.
  • New places to explore.

CLosed alpha 1

JUNE 2025

Feature lock! As testing ramps up, there'll be a lot of iterating on design and improving UI/UX.

  • Any final features based on pre-alpha 10 feedback.
  • Improving the module construction system, allowing for module rotation, node cycling, etc.
  • Adding in the final bits of wreckage.
  • Improving the Service Module's design.
  • Upgrading to Unity 6.

CLosed alpha 2

MID 2025

This phase is focused on getting all of the essential art in place.

MID 2025

Polishing and finalising all of the art and gameplay.

DEMO 3

LATE 2025

This will be for Steam Next Fest. Presumably the October one. Exact features undetermined, but I'd expect to see a few more things unlocked. Also still in the air about whether to include save/load...
